Nonprofit, Students & Documentaries:
If you are planning a shoot for anything other than personal use, we ask that you complete and submit our Film Application prior to your arrival at the site. Please email your application to email@example.com. At the very least, we wish to know who you are and when you are coming in order for your work at the park to be as successful as possible, while causing the minimum impact on the site and other visitors. We do not wish to set any rates for this type of non-commercial filming, but would appreciate a donation. Copies of your work would be happily welcomed.
Please complete and submit the Film Application a minimum of 20 days in advance of your start date. The Board must review and approve all applications before photography begins. Commercial production companies who arrive at the park without prior approval and all applicable permits will be turned away. Please refer to the Commercial Filming Guidelines for requirements and suggested location donations in the next paragraph. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. Every dollar of your location donation will go toward the ongoing maintenance of the site. The Film Coordinator for Desert Christ Park Foundation will work with Filmmakers to create the best experience for all parties involved in the production, including the filmmakers and the public at the site.
Commercial Filming Guidelines:
The following guidelines shall apply to all commercial requests for filming on Desert Christ Park property exclusively. Not all sculptures are located on Desert Christ Park property. Agreements with Desert Christ Park Foundation do not apply to sculptures located on Evangelical Free Church of Yucca Valley property. These guidelines apply and include film and/or digital recordings for features, television, still shoots, reality shows, music videos, commercials, and documentaries.
All filming must be in accordance with the ideas, mission and purpose as stated by the artist and supported by the Desert Christ Park Foundation. No nudity, violence, drug use or explicit sexual activity depicted in content filmed at the site. Please note that while every effort will be made to accommodate filming at Desert Christ Park, our main priority is as a place of peace and we reserve the right to decline filming projects at our absolute discretion. Please refer to Filming notation on page 1.
The person submitting filming application must be the authorized agent of the company and have the authority to enter into an agreement. No agreement shall be assigned to another filming company.
No sculptures shall be used in any way that will cause any surface or structural damage to the artwork. No one has the authority to change or alter any area or ground within the property lines of Desert Christ Park without prior written permission from the Film Coordinator.
All Filmmakers must submit a filming application for productions at the site. The application must be provided to the Film Coordinator of Desert Christ Park Foundation by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Permits and Insurance:
It is the responsibility of all Filmmakers to obtain film permits from Town of Yucca Valley and provide a copy to Desert Christ Park Foundation. All Filmmakers shall provide Desert Christ Park Foundation a certificate of insurance listing Desert Christ Park, Inc. as an additional insured party against claims for bodily injury, personal injury and property damage based upon or arising out of the use of the premises and all appurtenant thereto. Such insurance shall be on occurrence basis providing single limit coverage in an amount not less than $1,000,000 liability insurance per occurrence. A Workers’ Compensation certificate is required for all persons working under this agreement.
Suggested donations take into consideration a number of factors, including the size, duration and complexity of the production, the number of vehicles, personnel and equipment to be used at the site. One of the most significant factors is the production’s interference with the publics' access to the site. Desert Christ Park Foundation location manager has the authority to limit the scope of the shoot, to be included in artistic discussions with the Filmmakers and to enter into sub-contracts at the site with the Filmmakers on behalf of Desert Christ Park Inc. should the production go beyond the scope of the initial application.
½ day (6 hours) $600
Full day (up to 12 hours) $1,000
Hourly rate: $150
A Desert Christ Park Foundation location manager shall be on site for the duration of the shoot, including set up and strike, to monitor activity and compliance with all applicable permits and guidelines. Care and respect for all sculptures and landscape is our utmost concern and all filming will take this into consideration.
